This policy explains what is stored on your device when you use ifcalc.com, and how to control it. It sits alongside the privacy policy, which covers the wider question of what data is handled.

The short version

The calculators themselves store nothing about you. What you type stays in your browser and is never sent to us. The only things stored are one small preference, and — where advertising is active and you have consented — cookies set by Google for advertising.

What IfCalc stores itself

One item, and it is not a cookie:

• Language suggestion, dismissed. If your browser is set to a language IfCalc is available in, a small bar offers that version. Closing it saves a flag in your browser’s local storage so the bar does not reappear. It contains no identifier and is never sent to a server. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

WordPress, which runs this site, sets cookies for people who log in to administer it. As a visitor you will not receive those.

Advertising cookies

IfCalc is funded by advertising served through the Adsterra network. Where advertising is active, Adsterra and the advertisers buying through it use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, and to measure whether those ads worked. Depending on your consent and your location, these may be used to personalise advertising based on your prior browsing.

These cookies are set by Adsterra and its advertisers, not by us, and nothing is requested from them until you have agreed. What Adsterra does with the data it collects is set out in its privacy policy and its cookies policy.

Your consent

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for consent before any non-essential cookie is set. Declining does not restrict your use of the site — every calculator works identically either way — but the advertising you see will be non-personalised. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on this site.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, either wholesale or per site. Look under settings for privacy, security or site data. Blocking all cookies will not break IfCalc.

• Declining advertising cookies in the banner on this site, which stops any advertising script being loaded here at all
